This is a good horror movie. What I do not understand is if it was ever truly meant to morph into a Halloween wannabe? If it was, at least the Friday the 13th franchise has this movie to fall back on. The suspense that this movie envokes is truly frightening, although cheap at times with the use of gore. This is a classic and deserves to be. Although Holloween was a much better movie, this movie, and franchise, cannot be denied praise for the cultural influence it has had on many young children dreams as well as many adults. If you doubt this, go anywhere in the world and ask them if they know who Jason Voorhees is! |
