This is one unsettling film. Tod Browning used REAL circus freaks, which enhances the visuals to a level of umcomfortable shifting in your seat while watching. This is a story of love and betrayal among circus freaks, and what they do to extract revenge when one of them turns against another. Shots of them crawling through the mud on a storm night are enough to give one the shivers for a month of Sundays...and their chanting, "One of us, one of us..." Absoutely chilling! See this film, but be warned...it IS going to give you nightmares for the rest of your life! |
