Without going too far into the story (which is wonderful), all I can say about this movie is that it is as far as I am concerned the perfect 1950's scice fiction film. The writing is good. The special effects were at least 15 years ahead of their time, thanks to Disney. The acting is far above the acting you see in most sci-fi. There isnt much campy about this movie. There is no clear cut bad guy/monster. If you are a sci fi fan you really owe it to yourself to see this flick! Though its a bit dated by todays standards, I still love it more than anything I've seen in recent years.. Im amazed someone in Hollywood hasn't done a remake of this yet.. Im kinda glad they haven't actually.. They would probably ruin it!! |
