A slight Problem....

Let me start out by saying that i am a big fan of V.C. Andrews. I had not seen this movie when it came out, only being a child of 9 at the time. However as I went into my teen years I began to read her books. They were fascinating to say the least. However the only real problem i had with the movie was the chunks they took out and substituted. I can see where the whole Chris/Cathy situation could have been taken out due to the fact it was a wee bit out of step (for those whom have read Her books, You can understand). I applaud the movie as a whole because of the visuals and the VERY haunting music they added, which i think was probably very approporate for each time it played. The ending was a big problem however, but in looking back it was probably best they ended that way since movies seem to need a closure that her books never did. I think it was a great movie had there not been a book!!!! |
