I rented this movie thinking it was kind of new, and still didn't know it was made in 1981, I just thought it was cheap.
But the visuals are not a problem, since the story was great, I thought it was the most loyal film to the original stories out there, it clearly mixes reality with fantasy, sticking with the fantasy which is what people seems to like the most.
It has some errors though. First of all, it contains sexual scenes that are completely unnecesary, that makes it completely not for children, that is a big mistake specially in this genre.
The fighting scenes are also terrible, I know it was 1981, but it is hard to believe no one knew at that time how to swing a sword, Imagine Lancelot, the greatest warrior, swinging the sword as if he was a 5 year old, and still manage to beat a whole army. I mean, it is a good movie, but if it had good fighting scenes it could have become an old-time classic. |
