Excalibur is one of the best fantasy films ever made. The acting, direction, visuals and music compelment each other so well that there is no way you won't experience deep emoions while watching it; you share the knights pain when they search for the grial, you share Arthir's pain and fear.
While modern fantasy film lovers are all about the Lord of the Rings Trilogy (a nearly perfect work of cinema I might add) They shouldn't be as blind as to cast away an epic movie as this so easily. So now you know, if you're a modern day fantasy film viewer, you owe yourself to watch Excalibur; It is a commendable film even if you're not really into fantasy. |
