If you've seen the first, its really nothing comparable to this sequal/remake of that great horror movie. This is a remake, people, I dont know how many people say that this is connected continuity-wise, but it sure is not. Its a different take on the storyline although some of the same bits and a helluva boost finance wise(I believe somewhere around ten times the original evil deads budget). Also a little slapstick humor added to make it more entertaining. The acting, although some may argue is worse than even ED1, in my opinion it was just about a notch or more above it. Bruce Cambell again shows us why he is the king of the b-movie roster. This is, in my opinion the best of the trilogy(1,2,Army of Darkness), theres also a not in print prequal/prototype *Within the Woods* wich was made to fund and be the basis for Evil Dead 1. If youve seen Army of darkness or ED1 then this is a must for you if you've just seen this or Army of darkness then ED1 is a must, to see the horrofic begining of the trilogy. Their are some rumors making rounds on the internet that their is a second ending to this movie, I have no idea if this rumor has any grounds, although I do know that Army of Darkness has two beginings and endings. This movie is great for the funny "Hand vs. man" fight scenes if for nothing else. Great flick and, as I said a must see for any horror/Evil Dead fan. The anchor bay release special ed. dvd is the best if your going to buy. |
