A bit of everything

Enemy Mine is a story which has so many levels and I think can truly be enjoyed across a wide spectrum. It's got action, it's got comedy, it's got drama, it's got heart. It's not the greatest movie you'll ever see, but it is a very good movie.
The visuals are stunning for 1985. Except for maybe one or two space ship shots, nothing is dated, nothing is cheesy. It's incredibly beautiful. The movie is paced fairly well, but the pregnant Dracon scenes, and the scenes of William raising Zamis might seem weird and a little bit slow to those who are primarily here for the action.
It's not as good as the Battlestar Galactica TV series, but, like all good science fiction, it thinks along those veins in that it's a sharp social commentary that can be enjoyed across groups if your willing to give it a chance. |
