Exorcist Rip-off
by . . ... (movies profile)
May 23, 2006
Eerie Midnight Horror Show's storyline starts off well and is even slightly original early on. It isn't long however before the plot takes a nose dive and comes too close to resembling the Exorcist.
The acting actually is not all that bad. The Italian to English dubbing was satisfactory, but the dvd version I viewed (perhaps the only version?) is cursed with the constant hissing background noise, surely a sign of poor quality of VHS to DVD transfer.
Simply put, the direction of Eerie Midnight Horror Show was a poor effort. I constantly found myself thinking about how different scenes could have been far better or more effective.
Despite the movie being labeled a sex/horror film title, there is little sex and horror in the film. Not necessarily a bad thing, but perhaps a marketing strategy. Thats not to say however, that this is a suitable movie for children as there is at least some blood/horror violence and some nudity/sex.
All in all, a poor attempt at a horror film, even for 1982. I definitely would not recommend this one. |
