After reading some of these reviews, I can only say that these people who have give poor reviews are very young, shallow, and/or low in intelligence. I was 19 years old when this movie was made and have just now watched it all the way from the beginning to the end for the first time. Oh, I've seen parts of it but never all at once and I am very impressed.
I was a Playboy Bunny in 1969 (when the movie came out),I worked for the FBI in Washington, DC, in 1970, and was married to a Viet Nam vet. We, who saw the era in action, understand this film and what Fonda was out to show. He did exactly what he intended to do! The ending was very fitting for the message. Oh, and I ride, too. So if you "don't get it"......it's because you are sitting on your ass not using your head. There is a message here, not to mention 3 of the finest actors of this century...Fonda, Nicholson, & Hopper. And whoever the idiot is who wrote a review and rated an "F"--and misspelled 'retarded', well, that think that explains it all!!! What an idiot! |
