As a film student, I've seen them all. I've seen Griffith, Welles, Hitchcock... I've seen more movies than anyone could imagine. That was before I began to write reviews, and suddenly, I saw even more movies. I'm a harsh critic, and almost never offer a good review. In fact, in five years, I wrote two positive reviews on my website (Only Serenity and What Dreams May Come recieved solid thumbs up). And so I was asked many times what it is I like. Afterall, if I keep insulting movies, then why do I like them?
In reply, I wrote an article that lists the top 100 movies since 1930. The number one movie? You guessed it - Duck Soup.
Ever since I was a little kid, this was my favorite movie. A blend of timeless comedy and perfect acting, this movie puts a smile on your face from begining to end, and does so even after you've seen it hundreds of times like me. No movie will ever compare. |
