One of the all-time greats....

This movie brings together an amazing array of acting, writing, and directing talent! You have Peter Sellers playing three roles; Sterling Hayden as the crazy base commander; Keenan Wynn as "Bat" Guano, and George C. Scott as Buck Turgidsen. In smaller roles, Slim Pickens and James Earl Jones. Terry Southern's script is hilarious. "Precious bodily fluids...." and "Boy I sure would love to get my hands on one of those Doomsday machines...." are only two tiny examples of the double-talk-military-speech. Kubrick's direction is masterful, precise, and the editing is great!
BEST SCENE: Sellers, as the President, talking to the Russian leader, on the phone, telling him his country is about to be destroyed in a nuclear strike: "Hello Dmitri, hi how are you! Fine, fine, good...." Sellers early radio-acting career with Spike Jones and company really shines in these scenes.
