The plot of this great French film revolves around a famous opera singer and the young mailman who becomes infatuated by her and her voice.
La Wally is the opera that features and it's haunting melodies combined with Phillippe Rousselot's cinematography dominate every frame to bring us some really memorable cinematic moments. Like The Piano, the musical score of this film features almost as an additional character.
It's engaging, moving and beautifully shot film, with an intelligent and fast-paced plot. A wonderful piece of French cinema. |
