Clint Eastwood adds another memorable character to his career; Harry Callahan, a tough vigilante cop out to stop Scorpio, a serial killer ransoming the city out of millions. Eastwood gives a grand performance, but it's Andy Robinson's portrayal of Scorpio that steals every scene. He should have been nominated for an Oscar! The film, directed by Don Siegel, has fantastic visuals of the SF Bay area, Lalo Schifrin provides a moody and memorable score, and Eastwood delivers one of the most famous lines in film history. The film is gritty, realistic, and brutally violent (enough to make Martin Scorsese proud). This movie is a classic, and should be on the must-watch-list of any action and/or Eastwood fan. Four stars. |
