This film has inspired, motivated and captivated me. Every time I watch it, I want to join in with John Keating and stand on my desk to view the world in a different way. With the words "we read and write poetry because we are members of the human race and the human race is full of passion...poetry, beauty, romance, love: this is what we stay alive for", I am filled with an emotional drive to drink deep and suck the marrow out of life. The acting is right on and well done, the direction is inspired and inspiring, the story is original and stimulating and the feeling that I get from watching it is hard to attain from the mainstream Hollywood features today.
I have a short list of favorite films that I hold in high esteem; this is one of those films--a lasting classic. |
