A (Sad) Reminder of how great Jack Lemmon was

Where art thou, Jack Lemmon? The Days of Wine and Roses is a reminder of how movies used to be made: through a seriously interested story and through acting that keeps you on the edge of your ears to listen to every ounce of noise that pours from the characters' mouthes. Today, we rarely see a movie that hindges on the talent of an actor/actress that can truly show the inner emotions of the human psyche. This is where Jack Lemmon comes in. By portraying a man so torn between his addiction for booze and his desire to lead a normal life, you can honestly feel his torture. You want to see him win his battle, but you know that he just might never win, that every day is a new battle. Do we as humans ever really win against our torments? Life isn't a fairy tale, and nor is this film. And who says old films always end with "happily ever after"? You wouldn't know it by seeing this film.

You want to see what acting is supposed to be about? No special effects here to distract you from the talent (or lack thereof) of the actors in the film, this is juicy acting at its best. Watch this film if you are a self-proclaimed fan of movies, and realize you are watching one of the greatest at what he does.
