As a 17 year old high school senior, I still appreciated this movie. I just recently watched it in class, and as my teacher clued me in on some of the symbols in the movie, I relized how much this movie really does mean. Klaatu is a symbol for a 'Christ', coming down from space in attempt to save Earth, and I think Robert Wise did a great job with the character. The running motif of paranoia shows just what America would do in the case of alien visitation. I reccommend this movie to people of all ages, young or old. This movie will still be good in 100 years. |
