It is pretty obvious that most people who see this film are put off by it's B-Movie style and cannot fully appreciate what a great film this is.
George A Romero is one of the most influential directors of all time and his grizzly portrayal of a zombie-overrun planet is truly terryfying in it's own right. This is, of course, a sequel to both "Night of the Living Dead" & "Dawn of the Dead", however, the originality factor is not lost, as each installment of the trilogy focuses on different stages of the 'takeover'.
The film flaws(?) in the acting aspect of the film. DOTD parades a team of no-name and - quite frankly - poor actors, whom are supposed to bring the story to life. It is hardly surprising that any of these actors became household names!
In short, Day of the Dead is an original portrayal of what could happen should Hell get full and the dead should walk the Earth! |
