I saw my first zombie movie just about 2 years ago. I was up at 2 or 3 in the morning and was flipping throught the satellite and came across George A. Romero's "Day of the Dead" and for the next 2 hours was, to say the least, shocked. How could another human make a film so gruesome, so disgusting it made me sick to my stomach. But yet some how I found my self coming back to the film the following night, as it played on the T.V. again. I thought that it was only possible to make these kind of films once, and never again. Boy was I ever wrong, I was happy to hear that Romero had a sequel, or a prequel in this case, to "Day of the Dead" it was entitled "Dawn of the Dead" with in the next day I had bought the movie on DVD. And to this day I still watch the movie at least once a month, if not more. It is a gore filled, blood fest that has moral values, not just blood and guts. It delt with abortion, and human tendencies that felt like trends, more than individual feelings. It is full of wit and sarcasam with enough gore to make this a once and a life time experience. There is no way to explain the film, the only advice I can give is to see the film immedatley. |
