I could write a synopsis about this film and detail exactly how tragic, beautiful and moving it is... but instead I'm just going to rant about how the Motion Picture Academy--purely out of jealousy for Steven Speilberg--robbed him and this film of what they deserved... recognition as one of the best motion pictures of all time. Indeed, the failure of this film to win any of the 11 Academy Awards it was nominated for is a pure travisty and Hollywood should be forever ashamed of itself. There is NO question that this film is superior in every way to the dreadfully boring Out of Africa. The conclusion of this film actually makes people--men and women--cry out of HAPPINESS, which is an amazing achievement in itself. This film is a Masterpiece and should be seen by everyone. |
