I saw "Christine" when it first came out in theaters in 1983. I remember it was the day after Xams and both my Dad and I were looking for something to do. That was the only movie that appealed to us both, so we went to it. Needless to say, I was blown away by it. Oh course, at the age of 13 a lot of things impressed me, but the cool thing about "Christine" was that it still impresses me to this day.
Yes, the book is much more in-depth and much better than the movie. Had the movie makers been able to make the book, I would have rather seen that film. Now, seperate the book from the film and you have a very good movie! John Carpenter really pulled out the strings for this one and it is still my all-time favorite Carpenter film (okay, second favorite behind "Escape From New York") Also, any movie where there is a camaro in it (although this '67 Camaro gets destroyed) is cool in my book.
I read the book about every 2-3 years and I usually watch this movie at least once a year. Campy... yes, but great movie fun! |
