Although I like what Scorsese done with the newer Cape Fear, I like the original more on different levels. First, it is kind of interesting to see what 'America' was like during the early 60s when this film was made. Second, perhaps DeNiro is a more menacing Cady, though Mitchell does have a certain style, but Gregory Peck is far better than Nick Nolte. Also, parts of the newer film are really good, but the ending of the old film is far far better. |
