Bogart Provides Consummate Acting

I've really got to hand it to Humphrey in this one. The cast was very powerful, and the story was riveting. For anyone who has lived through a few hurricanes in FL or LA can just begin to appreciate the catastrophic conditions on a naval ship going through a typhoon. This was a high-stakes game with a ship and all the men's lives gambling on the captain's stupidity. You've really got to wonder what you would do in a similar situation. How do you follow a commander who has clearly lost it? I think this was an excellent film |
