Hands down. This movie has a quote for just about every baseball situation in the game, down to what exactly do the players say during those meetings on the mound-"Candlesticks are a nice present." This is Costners best movie he has ever acted in. He is SO believable as Crash. His best scenes are on the field talking with "Nuke". "Fastballs are facist. Groundballs are more democratic." It offers a view of what true minor league life is about and the sad fact that there are players in the minors like Crash who have "the brains not the talent" A movie that proves that the only church that truly feeds the soul is the Church of Baseball! |
