First rate acting performances!

Satirical look at the entwining friendships of three colleagues at a network television. Situated at a news bureau in Washington D.C., the story focuses on Jane Craig [Holly Hunter] an ambiguous career oriented television producer who relishes her busy work schedule and timely deadlines, though her personal life is at a shambles. Jane’s best friend Aaron Altman [Albert Brooks] is highly neurotic but a first class reporter who has aspirations to become the leading anchorman, but hasn’t the acquired look that’s required for television. Enter Tom Grunick [William Hurt], the bureau’s new reporter who has an impeccable knack for television with his good looks and finesse styled reporting, causes quit a stir in the lives of Jane and Aaron. Firstly noted in this production is writer/director James L. Brooks articulated offering, filled with added sarcasm in the world of network television. Ideally noted also is the thumbs up rating of the acting performance of Holly Hunter, Albert Brooks and William Hurt [arguably one of the best actors of this generation]. Broadcast News is well pitched seasoned delivery, filled with mixed humor and heart felt characters. If you enjoyed Broadcast News, then I suggest you view Network [1976], the best motion picture satire about network television.
