I saw this movie because I have a friend who is more then a little obsessed with the 80s. She had told me about Sixteen Candles, and introduced me to the Brat Pack, making me become obsessed. I watched Weird Science, 16 Candles, St. Elmo's Fire and Oxford Blues before stumbling upon this movie. I was stunned, because as I started watching it, it was like looking into my own(or most teens in general)life! I'm 13, and can most definitly relate to the pressure, loneliness and akwardness of being a teenager. And more then that, I could really relate to these characters! I have the stuborness of Bender, the shyness of Allison, akwardness of Brian, and the pressure of Andy(I truly couldn't relate to Claire...She is like the people at school that you just want to go away because they just make you feel so bad about yourself). This movie amazed me in so many ways, as I wish for it to amaze others. I recommend this for anyone probably 13+, not just because that is REALLY the age where I personally started to feel the pressure of the teen years, but also because parents may not want their kids seeing this movie because of a few suggestive things...Anyways, I'll try to stop sounding like a weird overly mature kid, and shut up. But my final message(and point)is to go out and see this movie! |
