The dialogue of this film, though granted it's not Shakespeare, is no less memorable. Wonderful phrases such as "Excellent!", "Party on Dudes!" and "Bogus!" not only brought stoner, surfer lingo onto the screens for the very first time, but also provide the most boring of people with a riotous catchphrase! The words would be nothing however if they were delivered by anyone other than Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter. Both were hilarious and convincing as two guys whose vacant expressions conveyed the message: "We are soo wasted!" Their air guitar and hopeless pronounciations of famous historical personages ensure that this film is a comedy classic. Although the whole concept of time travel becomes highly unrealistic and confusing towards the end you know that anyone who doesn't realise this is part of the humour takes themselves too seriously! With a rocking sound track that more than compensates for the bogus special effects this is a film you'll want to just watch over and over again. |
