One helluva movie!

Wonderful acting by a steamy duo- Bogart and Bacall. Great Directing and some of the best sexual tension ever on film. Harold Hawk did a fantastic job of giving "Marlowe" that edge that so many other actors tried tried to capture but failed miserbly at- and Bogey pulled it off.
Bacall, as Mrs. Rutledge played the role and played it for all it was worth- the "patter" between her and Bogey was all the better because of their relationship off screen.
There is enough of everything for everyone that enjoys "film noir" even tho this movie was made at the early start of that genre`.
It is worth owning and watching on a Saturday night with a bucket of popcorn and a soda pop. Come to think about it, worth watching ANY time with or without the popcorn and soda! |
