Based on the novel by Raymond Chandler, "The Big Sleep" stars Humphrey Bogart as private detective, Philip Marlowe, who has been hired to protect a young woman from her own indiscretions, but then falls in love with her older sister. This film was directed by Howard Hawks, and it also stars Lauren Bacall, Dorothy Malone, Louis Jean Heydt, and Regis Toomey. "The Big Sleep" was one of the greatest film-noir films of the 40's. |
