Great Movie

This movie is probably the most loving tribute ever made for every veteran who ever served in the United States military. It speaks volumes for the families and loved ones who waited for their return. It always surprises me how quickly this film came out after World War II, it won 8 Academy Awards in 1946. It was splendidly directed by William Wyler and dealt with themes we think of as being more modern; Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome, family dysfunction, communication issues, class distinction, and even a dash of feminism mixed in. It almost sounds like a weekly lineup of Oprah topics but it isn't, it's this movie and it is an original.
Frederic March, Dana Andrews, and Myrna Loy made the best movie of their careeers in BEST YEARS OF OUR LIVES. Harold Russell. . . I defy ANYONE to watch him and NOT get a lump in your throat whenever you see any vet, not just a disabled vet, from every war that's ever been fought. This man should have also received a Medal of Honor in addition to the 2 Oscars that he received.
This is probably my favorite movie of all time and I've yet to watch it without crying tears of pride and sadness.
This movie is a masterpiece.
