I don't know what it is, but something was missing from this movie. Was it funny, yes, but other then seeing it when it came out and a second time when it went to video I can't bring myself to watch it again. I think some of the characters just got on my last nerve. I understand what Matt Dillon was going for, but his complete over acting made me feel embarassed for him. The pizza guy takes the cake though. I wanted to shoot myself whenever he was on the screen. Cameron Diaz cashed a check for looking pretty. Ben Stiller started his trend of playing the goofy vulnerable guy that would last him, well it's still going to this day. Chris Elliot was the only performance I really enjoyed. It was a bit over the top also, but being that he was the ultimate stalker we'll let that go. See this movie once, and see if you actually want to watch it a second time. If you do then obviously you don't mind an assinine amount of actors embarring themselves, and I don't just mean by their actions in the script either. |
