If you havent seen Susan Sarandon, Tim Curry and the Mayor from Spin city all in fetish wear and face paint thrusting their hips and singing about sexual freedom them you havent seen Rocky horror picture show. Rocky Horror picture show was originally a rock musical, written by New Zealander 'Richard O'Brian' and was made into the film in 1975. It bombed at the box office when it came out but then gained popularity at midnight screenings and became a cult classic and has made over 100,million. The film surrounds Sarandon and Barry Bostwick (spin city) about to be married on the way to a friends house, they get a flat tire and go to the nearest castle to usethe phone. The castle is inhabited by Dr Frank 'n Furter (Curry) and his motley crew. Frank n Furter sets the tone of the sexual liberation monster alien musical by singing in a black lacy corset about how hes a sweet transcestite from transsssexual translevania. The film's songs range soft piano medleys to classic rock and roll, and features many talents. Sarandon and Bostwick are great as a conservative couple who end up exploring their sexuality with frankenstine style toy boys and mad scientists. Tim Curry is amszing, captivating and funny as the openly sexual mad scientist form another planet and the film also features a pre fame 'meatloaf' who sings about rock and roll and saterday nights. This film is a classic, its one of those films that you just see. everyone should of seen this film, even if they dont like it, its one of those films like 'god father', 'jaws', clerks, the lion king, that you just see and know about, so if any one ever brings up 'dammit janet' or 'im a sweet transssvestite from tranzzzsexual transssylvania' at a party, you know wot they are talking about and can counter with 'put you're hands on ur hips, and take a step to the right'.
classic, see it.
