From the get go this movie could have been stripped of its connection with the first Carrie film. If you were to draw no mention of the first film, show no flashbacks the Rage could still stand on its own. You want to believe this film will bring you closer to how Carrie was created and her connection with the Rage's lead actor but it falls short of explanation. This is another mean teen horror flick filled with jocks, silicone, and meaningless deaths all at the hands of a telekinetic outcast who has some connection with a horror classic of the past. The acting is not superb but you get to see Nina Suvari do something you haven't seen before. Plus it was great to see that Zack Taylor guy from Home Improvement as the antagonist who truly was a pain in the balls. This movie is a cheap sequel but do not get me wrong it is watchable. Especially the ending sequence when like the first Carrie, everyone gets a taste of the party. Now that was horror classic. |
