Ronin is very well-made action film that is packed with twists from start to finish. It is filled with great gun battles and high speed car chases throughout the whole film. Ronin stars Robert De Niro and Jean Reno and was directed by John Frankenheimer who has directed such movies as the original Manchurian Candidate and Reindeer Games. Ronin is definitely a must see for any action movie fan.

Ronin is about a team of six men, each with their own special skill, who are hired by the IRA to steal a very valuable briefcase from a group of Russians gang members. The location of the briefcase is not known since it is being moved around so many times but it is some where in Europe. As the team travels from place to place more Russian gangsters are killed and more IRA members turn against each other. Ronin is a must see for any Robert De Niro fan.

Ronin, in my opinion, was a very good movie with great action scenes and a few very good car chases. The movie starts right away in the first five minutes, unlike most movies where it takes at least twenty minutes for them to explain the plot of the story. There only a few problems with it. One is at the beginning when they describe the meaning of a Ronin. I thought this part was very unnecessary and I think they should have left it out. Another problem is it is not a good movie for the squeamish. For example, there is one scene in the movie when Robert De Niro has a bullet wound and he is forced to stitch it up. This scene in the movie is very graphic and very bloody and I do not advise anyone who does not like these kinds of things in movies to watch that particular part. I do advise you to watch the rest of the movie though because it is very well done.
