If you're looking for an adaptation of a Jane Austen novel that is either true to the book or at least true to the concepts in the novel, you will be dissapointed in both ways here. There's an uncomfortable mix here of some scenes taken straight from the novel, some things left entirely out, and some things changed beyond recognition. Not to mention the attrocious aditions to the plot. I loved this book, but this film does it no justice. The main character is nothing like in the novel, a real dissapointment. There are films made from novels that depart from the novel but are still enjoyable, but this one isn't one of those films. |
