This movie was an all-time worst adaptation of a superb Jane Austen novel. The introduction of some scenes of nudity and sexual degradation were totally out of place with the original plotline. The storyline was distorted into a political commentary on early 18th century black slavery, which was never even commented on in the book. Why does hollywood think they can improve on the plotline of a literary genius? Fanny Price was portrayed nothing like the literary character. Lady Bertram's character was applling degraded from the original lady of quiet dignity. The whole thing was an affront to both the viewer's intelligence and sensibilities. |
