The lights, glitz, glamour of Los Angeles of the 50's shines brightly in this amazing adaptation of the novel by James Ellroy. Director Curtis Hanson had a winner when he directed this movie, and made Guy Pearce and Russell Crowe famous, and made Kevin Spacey one of hollywood's greats. The corruption of the police force is alive and well, but three police detectives see flaws with the system the way it is and that the cases that they are investagating seem to be connected. This movie has it all Greed, Sex, Murder, Rich, Poor, Famous and Infamous that is what makes L.A Confidential a true american classic of modern noir that is in living technicolor. |
