I think amanap2000 has a serious screw loose. I have seen this movie several times, it is one of my all time favorites. It is about the true story of the Dali Lama. His Holiness the Fourteenth Dalai Lama who is the spiritual and political leader of Tibet has witnessed the devastation of his country that has been nothing short of a holocaust. Since the Chinese invasion of 1950 1.2 million Tibetans, one-sixth of their entire population have been killed, many of them brutally tortured, raped and treated with other horrifying cruelties before being murdered. Over 6,000 monasteries have been destroyed, the repositories of 1300 years of higher Tibetan civilization. The forests and wildlife of a previously protected ecology the size of Western Europe has been decimated. Through all of these nightmares the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan people have waged a nonviolent campaign to preserve their culture and reclaim their homeland. I believe that his Holiness is a living example of someone who has experienced the deepest horrors of humanity and emerged as a world teacher with a profound message.
