Hercules born of the Gods. Son of Zeus god of thunder(i think). Hades is not having this child ruin his chances of ruling the world so he gets his dumblings Pain and whoever (I think it was Fear but that does not sound right) to kidnap Hercules and make him drink the poisen to turn him mortal so they can kill him. Well it does not work and he grows up finds out that he is a God's son and now has to prove himself a true hero. A story that is filled with comedy, action, and just enough heart to make it bearable and not stomach wrenching. Hercules tries to do what is right but is too much of a clutz to bring it about. He needs a teacher to show him the ropes of being a hero which is where Danny Devito's character comes in and does a bang up job. The silliness sort of dies down towards then end when Hercules has to prove his hero staus. But it does not bog the movie down with sentiment that would pain anyone to watch. It is touching. The best parts of the movie are when those dumblings shape shift. I liked how the gods glowed that was a nice effect that was cool and not too over the top. I laughed at this movie and I almost but no quite felt sad enough to cry. Okay so maybe not. But I would buy this movie-if I find it-because it is one of my favorites.
