With a slate of respected movies like Drugstore Cowboy, My Own Private Idaho and To Die For, critically acclaim director Gus Van Sant would reap major success, and what can be considered his best offering thus far in Good Will Hunting. A cast that helmed the young Matt Damon who was quite suited in his role, with Robin Williams earning a Supporting Actor Oscar for his subdued portrayal, and sometimes formidable supporting performances by Minnie Driver and Ben Affleck. The script for Good Will Hunting was strong and well structured due to writers Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, who earned a Golden Globe and Academy Award for Best Screenplay. |
