.... It is just too good to be true. Gone with the Wind sparked a lot of controversy, both good and bad, for this time era. The Passion of the Christ can compare. The special effects and visual style was certainly one of the best I have seen, especially for back in the day. The acting, you would think, is fatfetch'd, but I looked beyond all of that and the characters for who they really are. The story is probably the best part of the movie. Spanning almost four hours, the story is touching and tear-jerking on occasions. The direction was top-notch, perhaps only to be parred by the great Donnie Darko. Also, this was a movie I thoroughy enjoyed watching. Gone with the Wind is the tenth addition to my four-star movie list, and it is up there; very close to the best movie ever. I cannot decide if it is better than Donnie Darko and Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. All of that aside, though, Gone with the Wind is the best love story of human existence. |
