What can be said about Godzilla 98 that hasn't already been said before?...... "It's the best film ever." "It's definately better than the Japanes ones" "Matthew Broderick was much better than he was in Ferris Beuler's day off" "That movie was worth a second watch" There you go, none of those things have ever been said about this movie and with any luck, never will again.
This has got to be one of the worst films I've seen in my entire life and I've been a movie fan my entire life. I can't believe I actually got excited about seeing this when it came out, what was I thinking?
To be fair, the CG in the movie was awesome for the time and it's obviously more realistic than the Suit-a-mation of the Japanese Godzilla films, but this film makes the Japanese ones look like Citizen Kane, I kid you not.
Bottom line, if you're a fan of Godzilla, don't fall for expensive immitations. Go see the real thing. |
