it was hard staying up during this movie cause i was so damn tired. the beginning is slow and sh-t. at one point they let a whole track ride while ghost dog just drives around the city at night with the street walkers and destitutes and such. also, i hate pigeons but the pigeons in this movie carry messages and sh-t so that's pretty f-ing amazing. they also talk to ghost dog cause he's some godda-n black dr. doolittle. wait, eddie murphy also played dr. doolittle in a movie. i suppose racist white hollywood truly believes that african monkeys can talk to all other beasts too. racist bastards. ir-regardless, sh-t is scattered, the mob dudes are way too diet-coke-commercial-caricature, but then again this movie came out in 1999 when the mob was still cool and everyone wanted to own a leather jacket. the best part of the flick is ghost dog and the french ice cream man's non-verbal brothership. that sh-t felt radiant. nobody can touch ghost dog in this movie cause he kills so sweet but it's really godda-n hard to buy at times cause f-in forest whitaker is sloppy fat in this flick. there's actually a scene where he's just sleeping in pigeon sh-t (i guess to show how deep he is with his birds), but mostly it looks like he lost control at a buffet and is now fighting for his life. also, he's got this f-ing lazy left eyelid thing going on like the time a mosquito stung me in the eye and i woke up looking like rocky balboa in round 11. lastly, he puts back his gats with a twirl the way samurais do their blades - that ***** is just ridiculous - he should be bare-assed spanked by prison gays for that. but they try to go deep with the philosophy here and there, jocking our asian mentals, and that's cool with me. overall, i caught this mainly to check how the RZA soundtrack blends with the visuals, and the RZA beats are bloody sweet. but as with the prototypical RZA beat, this movie drags with subtle shades of original cool, dead with intent to blow your mind, but mostly falling just short of any lasting inspiration.

f it, i guess i'll burn it.
