2 years ago I sat myself upon the living room couch and proceeded to watch some movies. Now all seemed fine and as normal as things get in my house. Untill I preceed to slide "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" into my tape payer. I was immedatley absorbed by Johnny Depp's performace as the sports writer Raoul Duke, and Bencio Del Toro's Dr. Gonzo. Let me start of buy asking a question. Huh? What the hell is the matter with writer/director Terry Gilliam and his so called vision. But if I have to say this movie totally inthraled me with his characters and his psychedlic vision of 1960's Las Vegas. Don't let me go fool you into thinking I hate the movie. It was amazing and one of my very favorites. Johnny Depp is one of my very favorite actors in Hollywood and he continues to be one of my very favorite actors to this day. I also enjoyed Terry's vision with the camera. Not shots are the same and he is constantly moving to keep the picture flowing. I thought this was the best movie of 1998 and will continue to keep audiances coming back again and again. |
