Ever After is simply a beautiful story.Based upon none other than the old fairytale 'Cinderella'.
This movie is about Danielle, a peasant that lost her mother as a child and loses her father at age 8.However her Stepmother was never became apart of her family until her father died.
Throughout the movie Danielle lies saying her name is Nicole (Her mother`s name) to impress the prince.Then with her the help of her best friend and her work-women friend she is able to spend a day with the prince.
There day is like a fairytale, where they end up being caught up with theives, in which one promises Danielle can have anything she carries.So Danielle carries of the prince.However Marguerite is in love with the prince, and with the help of her stepmother she may just become his wife.
Danielle is in love with the prince, but her stepmother at a luncheon with the queen lies saying Danielle (as the name Nicole, With her Stepmother being her cousin according to Danielle`s lie), that Nicole(Danielle) is already engaged.Later Danielle is locked up so she cannot attend the ball, and Marguerite shall become engaged with the prince.Or will she?
Leonardo Da Vinci designs a beautiful bird costume for Danielle (After letting her out of the room), and then Danielle becomes the most beautiful girl at the ball.Until her stepmother tells everyone the truth, and then the night becomes a terrible disaster, ending with Danielle in tears and a downpour.
The movies almost ends though with the help of Danielle`s other Stepsister and the prince in retreiving Danielle from a guy she was sold to, (In which Danielle almost kills this guy in exchange for freedom, Which she does get).
The movie still not over yet, is where The stepmother & her two daughters are required to see the King & Queen with 'style'.Expecting a happy time, they end up finding out that Danielle is a princess, and that the stepmother is to be banished to the Americas for lying to the Queen at their luncheon.
Danielle however thinks of a much crueler punishment, in which the stepmother & Marguerite are to work as peasants.And then the movie finally ends with the prince saying 'We are to live Happily Ever After', and then Danielle asks 'Now who said we must live happily ever after'.

Disturbing Issuie:
The stepmother tells Danielle that she reminds her so much of her(Danielle`s) father.But later on when Danielle asks her stepmother if she loves her, She says 'Who could love a pebble in their shoe?'.

Still this is a beautiful movie, and the whole family will love it! |
