...the movie leaves the screen. I have often looked around at my surroundings & the people in my life & asked myself, "Is this real?" In the movie, it all looks & feels so real to the people in the city, but they are all part of one big experiment. Shell Beach has been implanted in their minds as a great vacation place they went to as children, but no one remembers how to get there. The odd thing is that no one questions that fuzziness--until he points it out to the detective, who becomes angry once he realizes that the man is right. We go through the monotony of daily life, & much of the past becomes fuzzy & meaningless. We don't question the lack of connection & memory, but we should. We all should. This film is outstanding & thought provoking. A must see. |
