I don't know about you but, to me, art films are mostly boring. This one,however,is the exception. And with a name like,"Jean Baptiste Basquiat," I was expecting a period piece, roaming the streets with the likes of Mozart! Who would have ever guessed he lived and died in a age when hair bands ruled the world? That he was a young, black, homeless man with a French name and a talent too large to live? That he suffered from a severe case of shyness, which caused him to stutter and breakout in hives? Or,that he came from nothing, made it big then,struggled constantly with the fame he always dreamed of having? |
