A classic...brought tears to my eyes!

I watched this movie as a child, and it was exactly that...a classic children's movie. It wasn't hugely philosophical or particularly intelectual, it was just wonderful light-hearted entertainment from a down-to-earth English country town...Babe left me with a lovely, warm and fuzzy feeling inside. When I was young, it brought a slightly sad tear to my eye as I struggled in my youthful ignorance to grapple with the light touch on life's "politics", but now I'm older it still brings a tear - though, thankfully, that tear is more a tear of memories of youth...followed by a smile. I love this movie, it's a great family story, delicately crafted to not be too cheesy, nor too serious, and it portrays the "culture" and atmosphere of the country-farmers lifestyle perfectly! A very enthusiastic THUMBS UP! |
