Cut like a theatrical trailer. So vague, with the camera always moving, the 2 second cuts and one liners every 20 seconds. You guessed it:ITS A MICHAEL BAY MOVIE. From the same genious that brought us Pearl Harbor and the 'I Would Do Anything For Love' music video comes 'ARMAGEDDON: NEARLY 3 HOURS OF INFINATE GARBAGE AND BAD VISUALS'. This has a really bad screenplay. It can be funny at times, but like BAD BOYS 2, it can never decide if it wants to be a disaster film or a comedy. In the first 5 minutes Willis shots Affleck in the foot! These characters are supposed to work together to save the world and supposedly Willis' character respects Afleck's character. One character is a geniousin one scene and then or the rest of the film is a complete moron. The russian space station scene was so pointless, and obviously added so they can fit another explosion for another mindless audience.1998 was the summer of bad movies, really bad movies. i don't think anyu other summer has had as much bad movies as 1998. Besides ARMAGEDDON there was GODZILLA, basically the same film, with better editing but an even worse screenplay. Thank God for Mask of Zorro which saved the SUmmer of '98. |
