Well folks, what can I say? When it comes to horror...this is as good as it gets. With the perfect mix of suspense, gore, and some of the greatest creature effects to ever grace the screen, Alien is a thrill ride from start to finish. Ridley Scott builds the horror well and does not even introduce the monster until a good 45 minutes into the movie. Then the fun begins as this hideous monstrocity hunts the individual crew members one by one. The creature is never seen very clearly except in extreme close-ups which adds to the terror. This movie is still on my small list of all-time greats. It truly is a landmark in sci-fi/horror and continues to frighten moviegoers nearly 25 years after the original theatrical release. Highly recommended! |
